Fight the good fight of faith.

"But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your confession in the presence of many witnesses."

I Timothy 6:11-12

Reading Paul's instructions to Timothy, God reminds me that walking in faith is a constant, daily battle. My heart is so easily prone to wander, and my thoughts are so easily swept into the worries of life. Often as Peter failed to trust in Jesus, I too often feel like I am sinking. It is a fight to tune my heart to God's heart and mold my thoughts to Biblical thoughts. But, by reminding myself that by the blood of Christ, eternal life is something I already have, not just about going to heaven. This promise gives me hope, trust, and love. I am alive in Christ.
