MY Gospel

"Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is MY gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God's word is not chained. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory."
II Timothy 2:8-10

God's word is powerful, eternal, alive. God's word is not chained, nothing in this world will diminish its mighty power. It cannot be contained or restrained.  And after reading these verses, I ask myself, is my life an illustration of the gospel? Am I willing to die and suffer for what I know is truth and everlasting? Reflecting on these questions, this is my prayer, for God's word to be my own personal gospel, as Paul claimed his, so that my life is visibly a demonstration of Jesus Christ to everyone around me. Although I may not be physically oppressed for pursuing Jesus, this is a fight against the flesh, against my selfish wants and desires, against my own time. Rather than fatiguing over studying, over worries, etc., I should be fatigued for the Gospel -- reading it, sharing it, exemplifying it. Help me Father to make the gospel MY gospel
