Because of that, instead having this post about my first reading of the summer, I'm going to dedicate it to the preparation of my heart and mind for this summer adventure with God.
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (II Tim. 3:16)
"Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night." (Psalm 1:1-2)
"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer." (Psalm 19:14)
Put a hunger for Your word and a desire to know who You are in my heart. Take down all distractions that pull my affections away from You. I pray, Lord, that You reveal yourself and open my heart to your teachings so I can know You in a deep and personal way. May my meditations be pleasing to You. Rebuke me, convict me so I can be a woman that reflects who You are and who You want me to be. I am excited for this summer, and what will it become. Lead me Father through Your Word and lead me through these next few months. Don't let this summer be a waste, but rather, let it be fruitful and glorifying to You.
Woooo! God is SOOO good.
